The Yorkville RVS-II Restoration
Allow me to start off with a really big thanks to Mike Holman at Yorkville Sound for providing the manual and schematics which really allowed for the unmitigated success of this restoration project!
One happy day, this Yorkville RVS-II came into my shop for a cleaning and assessment from local band In Waves. Luckily, I had previously been in contact with Mr. Holman having recently repaired a more recent piece of Yorkville PA equipment owned by In Waves. Mr. Holman was able to provide me with .pdf copies of the original owner's manual and some great schematics of how this RVS is built. At the end of the day, this is the information that allowed me to confirm that this particular unit still works perfectly. I simply had to clean it up and test it out!
It came in looking more like this...
The owner of this unit purchased several years ago from a hock shop. After decades of hard use, the faceplate has become really dirty. The big problem was that all of the marking paint would dissolve nearly as easily as all of the hardened old gunk! The solution in this case was a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, just barely wet, and a great deal of care and patience. Eventually it came out pretty well.
Here's a photo of the inside.

Finally, check out the cool output section!!! A really great example of a complimentary feedback output from the era when it was needed. This project was a real privilege!
